After a tiring day, and with an endless list of streamable television shows to watch, you hit the couch and turn on Law & Order: SVU reruns. While we all love our classics, there’s so much to watch out there! Here are some of the shows you should check out on Hulu:

The Act (2019)

Taking a deep dive into the true case of Gypsy Rose Blanchard and Dee Dee, her mother, this story gained notoriety following the publication of a viral read on the case. The Act stars Patricia Arquette and Joey King as the mother/daughter pair. The plot revolves around Gypsy’s realization that she’s a victim of her mother’s abuse- a Munchausen-by-proxy situation- and wants to escape, which then leads to a controversial plan.

Adventure Time (2010-2018)

This is a masterpiece in its deep exposition of an apparently straightforward premise. The heroic duo of Jake the shape-shifting dog traverse Ooo and Finn the human, a post-apocalyptic landscape full of dungeons, monsters, and races of kingdoms that covers everything from cats under boxes with drawn-on faces to candy people. The kids’ show (that’s not exactly a kids’ show) cultivated a multigenerational cult following as it continued to explore the backstories of Ooo and its inhabitants (often interdimensional) in its lifespan of 8 years.

Alone Together (2018)

While freeform series can either be a hit or miss, this comedy series following best friends and comic hopefuls (the extremely basic Esther and the not-so-motivated Benji who mooches off his wealthy brother) in LA perfectly depicts what it’s like for the obnoxious people to be meant for each other.

American Horror Story (2011- )

Do you know why people love Ryan Murphy shows so much? It’s because they’re infused with equal parts of suspense, camp, humor, and drama- even this seemingly scary one. Whether you’re watching the Hotel, Murder House, Freak Show, or Roanoke installment, you’re in for jaw-dropping plot twists, unforgettable characters, brutal finales, and stomach-curdling gore.
