Are you bored staying indoors, thanks to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic? Here are some shows to binge-watch and keep yourself busy:
Cobra Kai
A remake of the classic 1980s Karate Kid franchise, Cobra Kai has become a hit.
Launched on YouTube Premium, Cobra Kai is now a Netflix series. This show follows the reopening of the Cobra Kai dojo from The Karate Kid with a modern-day twist. The biggest USP of this show is nostalgia, which helped so many of us get through the difficult year that was 2020. Season 3 of Cobra Kai premiered on Netflix on January 1, 2021.
The Witcher
The Witcher emerged as one of the most popular Netflix shows since its release in December 2019.
This Henry Cavill starrer is all things fantasy, like Lord of the Rings, and is rich in gaming and fantasy storytelling, making it quite wholesome for fans of the fantasy genre. The first season follows Geralt of Rivia (Henry Cavill), a monster hunter, on his journey to figure out why so many princesses are turning into creatures. During his adventures, his path crosses with Yennefer of Vengerberg (Anya Chalotra) and Princess Ciri (Freya Allan). Season 2 of The Witcher is expected to be released on Netflix in 2021.
Schitt’s Creek
Canadian sitcom Schitt’s Creek is everything delightful and hilarious.
Schitt’s Creek is about a wealthy family who is defrauded by their family manager. They’re forced to move into a motel in a small town the father (Eugene Levy) bought for his son (Daniel Levy) as a joke. Catherine O’Hara shines in her performance as the mother, a former soap opera actress, who refuses to accept her new social status. The sitcom follows how the family gets accustomed to life in the small town and even begins to love it. This series, available on Netflix, is also progressive as the son’s pansexuality is embraced and not looked down upon by the other characters.
