John Legend has provided a quick update on how his wife Chrissy Teigen is handling the reaction following her previous accusations of bullying on social media.
Legend was questioned about Teigen in a video released on TMZ, and he simply responded, “She’s doing great.”
“Project Runway” contestant Michael Costello published a statement on his verified Instagram account in 2014, claiming that Teigen had abused him and that he “wanted to kill myself and I still am traumatized, depressed, and have thoughts of suicide.”
Teigen accused Costello of being a racist based on what he said was a “photoshopped comment” that has since been proven to be fake and deleted.
The designer claims he attempted to contact Teigen to correct her but was ignored.
“When I reached out to Chrissy Teigen to explain that I had been the victim of a vengeful online defamation and that what she believed I was not who I am,” he said on Instagram, which also includes direct messages he says he received from Teigen.
Teigen wrote a lengthy Medium article on June 14, claiming, “I was, without a doubt, a troll. And please accept my heartfelt apologies.”
Teigen claims she has “more than a few” individuals who she has to publicly apologize to, and she claims she has been personally reaching out to some of the people she has been nasty to.
Legend tweeted his support for his wife’s message, highlighting a sentence she penned that read, “We are all more than our worst moments.”
Following Teigen’s apologies, several celebrities, including Zoe Saldana, expressed their support. According to Billboard, UK singer Leona Lewis also used her verified social media to discuss an uncomfortable experience she had with Costello and to urge compassion.
